Ooty, is also known as Ootacamund, is the Queen of hill stations and the capital of Nilgiris district. It is one of the most popular tourist resorts in India. Ooty is also a land of picturesque picnic spots. This place used to be popular summer and weekend getaway for the Britishers during the colonial days. It is situated at an altitude of 2,240 mt above sea level.

An added attraction for the tourists is the mountain train journey on a ratchet and pinion track which commences from Kallar, near Mettupalayam and wends its way through many hair-raising curves, fearful tunnels and chugs along beside deep ravines full of verdant vegetation, gurgling streams and tea gardens.
The annual Tea and Tourism Festival attracts crowds in huge numbers to visit the place and have a great time in this wonderful place. The environment is so wonderful that is invites a lot of tourist attraction who come here to enjoy a wonderful time with nature while staying close to huge landscape.

Ooty has blooming vegetation and wonderful tea gardens and fine pine and eucalyptus trees, which keep enhancing the beauty of the place. Several areas are preserved like that of sanctuary so as to conserve the beauty of the nature and avoid extinction of the various animals.

HOW TO REACH:-I prefer going to ooty from Mumbai/Pune by train till Coimbatore...Once you get down at the station, ask for the bus depo from where you get these buses going to ooty...If your bus has time...JUST DONT MISS to go to a small house diagonally opposite this bus station where you get the WORLD'S BEST DOSA....A very tiny shop, not at all to the standards of a roadside restaurant as well, but amazingly well behaved and polite staff(basically a family runs it), a very clean place and guess what, the most tastiest sambhar dosa at just 10 bugs each!!!!
I had 4 of these and an extra uttapam....for 15 bugs I guess...But what a treat!!!
So after you reach ooty from the bus station catch an autorikshaw to any hotel you like....or mail us to book a hotel @ ooty.
Best thing about ooty...there are very tiny chances of getting duped coz faresx to each point or destination are always on the board right above the stand...
